You may remember back in July it was announced that that amazing show Mythbusters was going to test the Gorn Cannon from the episode "Arena". The premise, if you for whatever reason are not privy, was that Kirk fashioned a cannon out of bamboo while crushing potassium nitrate, sodium, and charcoal (all on the planet's surface) to make gun powder. He used his cannon to destroy the Gorn and safely returned to the Enterprise.

Card pulled yesterday-
Frog (C)- Frog unites earth and water to bring joy and healing to you. He leads you to the sacred spring from which you can be refreshed and renewed. Nothing in life is what it is suppose to be. There is hidden beauty and power in all of nature. Look for the magic and beauty behind appearances.
and for the other-
Ram (C)(R)- Instead of banging your head against the wall try walking around it! Alternatively -ask yourself why the wall is there? Maybe you need to move in a different direction. Part of you may enjoy the spirit of competition - locking horns with friends or enemies - but now may be the time for sacrifice. Sometimes letting go, no matter how painful, can open a door on a new life. Ask yourself "where do i feel most at home" then follow your instincts and go there.
for once I shouldn't be the one paying attention to the cards. Heads up. Pay attention.

2009 was fired. it has been stricken from the record of acceptable years and will not be mentioned again unless absolutely necessary.
low points? more than i care to name.
i lost too dmn many friends at much too young ages. too many of my friends are unemployed, or employed but in financial trouble. and i am not well enough off to help them.
my business did a good impersonation of a vacuum most of the year, partly BECAUSE so many of my friends (who are also my customers) are unemployed.
my house cleaning backslid.. badly.
high and low
hubby and i continue to struggle along. our finances suck but at least we have our heads above water for now. (which sad to say is better than many of my friends)
My health is ... well.... iffy. i feel bad complaining since my health issues are so trivial compared to many other folks.
hubby's health continues to be an issue that i wont go into in an unlocked post.
the pets have had issues which racked up the vet bills as well.
hmmmmm
ok, there were a few high points, i guess.
some i cannot mention as i dont have the permission of the other people involved.(although i assure you they are appreciated)
some really are not "blog bait" however appreciated they may be.
i finally got the toe up sock to work to my satisfaction.
my family has generally been stable health wise.... an improvement over last year.
but in general i could definitely have done without 2009, and am hoping that 2010 will be a dramatic improvement for us all.

The Republicans currently staging trouser-wetting fits for the cameras while muttering about how President Obama was bad not to cancel his vacation because some idiot castrated himself with flash powder seem to have forgot all about George W. Bush’s fateful vacation in Crawford, Texas, where he refused to be bothered by CIA agents trying to warn him about Al-Qaeda. He dismissed them with a curt “All right, you’ve covered your ass now.”Mercury Rising
